Affiliate Sponsor awards (certificates, medallions as determined by sponsors) are awarded at PRSEF because of its affiliation with ISEF. The 2003 affiliated sponsors are listed below with the corresponding criteria for the award.

American Meteorological Society 2 Certificates of Outstanding Achievement - Senior Division projects (9,10,11,12) for best meteorological exhibit.
ASM International 1 - medallion and certificate of recognition for best materials engineering projects use of materials-related concepts, demonstration of some aspect of the materials paradigm e.g. Structure processing properties performance relationships, clarity of presentation, clear understanding of scientific method, aesthetics (layout, neatness)
Association for Women GeoScientists 1 - certificates Awards for GeoScience Excellence projects (either girls or boys) which exemplify high standards of innovativeness and scientific excellence — consider projects that increase the public awareness of the geosciences, illustrate interdisciplinary nature of geosciences, promote sensitivity to the earth as a global system EARTH/SPACE/ENVIRONMENT
Eastman Kodak company Photographic Award 1 - after the fair student winners are sent Photo kit which contains their award certificate, information and a KODAK camera and film - project which makes the most effective use of photographic images or digital image processing to gather data, solve a problem or clearly explain the essence of a Science Project
Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Assoc. 1 - Certificate and Medallion for outstanding overall engineering project demonstrates competence in one or more engineering disciplines, good grasp of engineering fundamentals, good communication skills.
Intel Excellence in Computer Science 1 - Certificates - Sr. Division Computer Science Category 1st place winners by mail from INTEL students will receive $200 award from INTEL and Intel memento
Intel Excellence in Environmental Health and Safety Award 1 - Certificates - Sr. Division Earth/Space/Environment Category 1st place winners by mail from INTEL students will receive $200 award from INTEL and an INTEL memento
International Society for Optical Engineering - NEW in 2003 1 - Certificate - Best project in the area of optical science and engineering.
NACE International National Assoc. of Corrosion Engineers 1 - Certificates of Merit for best exhibits in Environmental Science or Engineering Categories which demonstrate awareness of importance of controlling and preventing corrosion
Society for In Vitro Biology 1 - Certificates of Outstanding Achievement for Ability and creativity in In Vitro Biology - 11th grade students with projects in the areas of plant or animal in vitro biology or tissue culture.
The Air Force Research Lab 2 - Certificates for outstanding research projects showing clear aerospace application. Will receive nomination package and t-shirt.
U.S. Army 5 - Certificates of Achievement - (drawstring duffle bag) for Senior Division projects in Engineering, Earth/Space/Environment, ComputerScience/Math, LifeSciences, Physical Sciences - 1 in each category
U.S. Metric Association 1 Certificates -- projects which involve a significant amount of quantitative measurement and which best uses the SI metric system for measurements
U.S. Navy/U.S. Marine Corps 6 - Certificates of Distinguished Achievement -Senior Division winners Other acknowledgments: 1 - Winner in Junior, 1 Winner in Intermediate, 4 in Senior Division
U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services U.S. Public Health Service Awards 1 - Award Certificates -- outstanding projects which illustrate/expand upon importance of regular physical activity throughout life, healthy diet maintaining healthy weight, tobacco as risk factor for heart disease, stroke, lung cancer.
Water Environment Federation 1 - certificates "U.S. Regional Stockholm Junior Water Prize" best projects related to water quality, water resource management, water protection, water treatment or water treatment. Senior Division (9th - 12th)
Yale Science and Engineering Assoc. 1 - certificates to most outstanding 11th grade student project in the areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry (student receives formal award certificate and medallion by mail from sponsor in July/August)


Affiliate Sponsor Schedule for the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair

Affiliate Sponsor awards (certificates, medallions as determined by sponsors) are awarded at PRSEF because of its affiliation with ISEF.

The competition will be held on Friday, April 2, 2004 in Heinz Field - Club Level. Complimentary parking is available in Lot G1 at Heinz Field. The judges' entrance is Gate A. Presentation of the Affiliate Awards will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
