The purpose of the SciTech Festival High School Career Days mini-courses is to offer a selection of online professional development mini-courses to teachers whose students participate in the 2004 High School Career Days. These courses are intended to help teachers learn about inquiry-based activities related to the events presented at Career Days.
Teachers will enroll in the online course(s), download the materials, complete and evaluate the activities, and engage in discussion with other teachers. They will be given Act 48 credit (PA professional development requirements). Hopefully they will then incorporate these activities into their science class.
Getting Started
For those who are familiar with online (distance education) classes, or ready to try something new, just jump right in. You'll need to register first, then you might want to take a test drive: "Do You Believe in Magic?" (CD01) is a whimsical "practice" course intended to demonstrate the online environment. No Act 48 credit will be given for participating in this trial course online. We hope you enjoy the experience.
